Welcome!

Hi folks!

I am trying a new set-up-- I will set up a new page for each day's assignments. Please be sure to subscribe to the blog so that you know when folks are commenting on your posts.

  1. I really like Mr. Kreitman's view of the different types of group classes. I especially appreciated his statement of the difference between a "regular group class" and an orchestral experience. He said that rather than being focused on reading notes, a teacher and the students can be focused on good tone, posture and musicianship. When people enroll their kids into youth orchestras without giving them the experience of a group class, the student is missing a step that could really hinder their development.

  2. I agree! It is one of the great advantages of the homogeneous group classes. This is also made possible by the utilization of a common repertoire, whether it is Suzuki, hymns, or mexican folk music like at Bruce-Guadalupe!
